I recently enjoyed being a guest on a podcast, The Places In-between, by Wendy Henkelman. We discussed the importance of understanding our identity as we fulfill God’s calling. It was an insightful conversation that will inspire and motivate you to continue to discover, build and scale your work while protecting your peace.

Here are a just a couple practical takeaways:

Take your relationship with God to the next level.

Taking your relationship with God to the next level is essential to your mission. Commit to ongoing conversations with Him and learn to work with Him, seeing Him as your CEO and board of advisors. As part of Matthew 11:28-30 states, “Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”

Find your Conviction
One way to find the conviction behind your work is to dare, pray, and ask, “Lord, break my heart for what breaks yours.” Then pay close attention to what He stirs up in your hearts and write it down, circling it in prayer.

Research, Research, and Research.

Once you know who you want to serve or the direction you want to embark on, it’s essential to conduct thorough research.  Talk to the people you’re interested in helping and ask them questions about their pain points and what solutions they’re seeking. Be anchored in data, not just your feelings.

Lastly, become self-aware.
Identify how you’re uniquely wired and what you truly desire. By understanding your unique strengths, talents, and passions, you can design your business or ministry to fit your story and your lifestyle.
