Embarking on the entrepreneurial journey can be exhilarating and challenging all at once. 

As we navigate the twists and turns, it’s natural to wonder, how do we not lose ourselves amidst the demands of building a business? How do we prevent burnout or if we are already there, how can we recover? 

In my experience, the answer lies in one word: discernment. 

The key lies in embracing discernment as our guiding compass, infusing us with unwavering confidence to walk by faith as we walk through uncharted territories of the unknown.

Grit & Virtue turned eight this year, and I can confidently attest to the essential role discernment plays in our mission. Without God’s guiding direction, many are left grappling with anxiety, hesitation, and a sense of futility in their efforts.

As a woman of faith, building a successful, fulfilling, and sustaining business goes beyond mere strategy and hard work. It requires a real and personal relationship with Jesus. Just as a healthy and loving relationship prioritizes quality time, open communication, honest conversations, and attentive listening, so too should our relationship with God.

 

 

Reflecting on your own experiences, how would you describe the qualities of a healthy and loving relationship?

In my years of working with women who love God, I’ve noticed that while they may be believers, attend church, and read their Bibles, they haven’t fully experienced God or truly known Him intimately. It’s like having a favorite author whose books you’ve read and whose advice you follow — you feel like you know them, but you don’t truly know them until you cultivate a personal relationship with them.

Similarly, you may think you know God because you’ve read His book, followed the Bible’s teachings, and attended church. However, it’s possible to know about God without knowing Him personally. 

Let me say that again, it’s possible to know about God without knowing Him personally. 

This is where my conviction lies. I can’t fathom you living life without God’s voice, presence, and direction guiding you. That’s why Grit & Virtue Oasis is essential to the Grit & Virtue Membership.
